70% DARK CHOCOLATE UGANDA SEMULIKI FOREST 60 G "BEANINGFUL"
-
In western Uganda, in Bundibugyo County, which borders the Democratic Republic of the Congo on one side and is surrounded by the majestic Ruvenzori Mountains and the Semuliki National Forest on the other, cocoa trees grow among bananas, plane trees, palms and coffee trees.
This Semuliki Forest cacao is grown on small organic farms of which there are as many as 3,400, and 52% of the farm owners are women. Latitude, a cocoa processing and exporting company, is a registered B-corporation that buys high-quality fresh cocoa and pays growers 20% more than other buyers in Uganda.
The strong chocolate flavor is complemented by berry flavor notes - like a cherry on top of the cake.
